Jerry Franklin Poe is the author of the top selling book series What I Wish I Knew When I Was in … School, founder of Poetential Unlimited LLC and www.POEtential.com a company designed to train and equip the mind, activate the vision, cultivate the passion, and hone the skills necessary to live life on your terms.
Jerry grew up in a small town in eastern PA (Avondale, PA). Jerry graduated from Avon Grove High School, where he was a member of the marching band, 4 year varsity athlete, and honor student.
At the age of 17 Jerry volunteered for a two week humanitarian mission to Haiti, where he serviced as dental assistant in a medical center.
Jerry went on to attend college at the University of Delaware. As a student at the university Jerry studied Leadership & Consumer Economics, Black American Studies, and was an active member of the University Gospel Choir and Black Student Union.
After his years as a student, Jerry took a position in the Reference Department at the University of Delaware Library. While working at the University, Jerry served on several committees including being the co-chair of the award winning Library Diversity Committee.
Jerry turned his passion for personal growth and development into a life mission of teaching individuals and organizations how to maximize their potential and realize their purpose.
As a highly sought after speaker, Jerry has delivered over 3,100 empowering presentations to schools, colleges, and organizations throughout 45 states in the U.S., 5 provinces in Canada, & Puerto Rico. Jerry has spent the last 15 years working in higher education, leadership consulting, and motivational speaking. Jerry uses real-life experiences, stories, and analogies to educate, equip, encourage, and entertain his audience.
Jerry has authored two books and is a certified life and business coach.
